Cadence
athletes benefit from the team’s partnership with Montreal’s CAMO,
one of the most prestigious swim clubs in Canada, whose home is the national
training centre at the Claude Robillard Sports Complex. Cadence athletes can
train with CAMO’s masters’ swim team, in a dynamic group setting
under the supervision of Mrs. Janon D’Aoust (a Level 2 coach with more
than 13 years’ experience), in workouts that are tailored to the level
of each person. Within this masters’ group, Cadence’s triathletes
can improve their freestyle technique and performance while gradually preparing
themselves for competition.
Cadence’s association with CAMO’s masters’ group not only
provides Cadence athletes with supervised swimming training, but also allows
them to benefit from the following significant advantages:
- numerous swimming workout options (10 different sessions each week, morning
and/or evening);
- access to the Claude Robillard Sports Complex’ athletics facilities
(200m indoor track and 400m outdoor track);
- access to the Complex’ small gym (adjacent to the indoor track);
- access to the Complex’ sauna and whirlpool;
- Quebec Swimming Federation membership.
As members of the Quebec Swimming Federation, Cadence’s athletes can
take part in masters’ swim meets, including provincial and Canadian
championships. Events at these competitions include the 400m, 800m and 1500m
freestyle, any of which will allow Cadence team members to periodically check
their progress.
