The team – THE TRIATHLETES
As the team is made up of athletes of all ages and of varying levels, group
workouts give team members the opportunity of getting to know each other and
developing synergies amongst themselves. In spite of the competitive spirit
inherent in our activities, our team members never hesitate to encourage and
support each other and to share practical advice, regardless of performance
levels. The team dynamic fosters opportunities to discuss and share ideas
about injuries, difficulties, successes, progression, etc… Even if training
is partly an individual process, many members get together to run or cycle
in groups at different venues. In winter, the Club organizes cross-country
skiing outings, which can serve to replace the long runs or rides that might
otherwise be scheduled as part of the training programme.
The group dynamic can also make it easier to train through high intensity
workouts, which can often be tough and even painful on occasion. Sharing challenging
moments with others who are experiencing the same sensations has a calming
effect and helps us persevere. It is not all hard work though – as a
reward for our efforts, there are also moments to rest and to have fun! For
those who still have some energy left, the Club organizes parties at Christmas-time
and on other occasions, particularly at the end of a season!
Information Sessions
At various times during the season, the Club organizes information sessions
on topics that are of interest to team members. Presentations by specialists
in different fields (nutrition, nutritional supplements, stretching, etc…)
allow us to benefit from their expertise and thereby help us improve as athletes.
These information sessions (for which additional fees may be charged) take
place in relaxed settings, and provide additional opportunities for our team
members to talk and trade ideas.
